Founder's Note: We're Building Infrastructure

Dear HiiiWAV Family,

For years, I've watched talented artists struggle—not because they lack vision or talent, but because they lack infrastructure. The systems that exist weren't built for us. So we're building our own.

HiiiWAV is no longer just a program or an incubator. We are infrastructure for creatives—the foundation that artists, activists, and changemakers can build on top of.

This means:

  • Festivals that showcase our community (HiiiWAV FEST, Hiero Day, HellaJuneteenth)
  • Oakland Tech Week bringing together creators and technologists
  • Real estate so artists have spaces to live and work
  • Director — a virtual back office for nonprofits

And at the center of it all: the HiiiWAV 50 Fund—our $50 million initiative to empower 50 artists with funding, housing, services, and ownership.

We're not waiting for someone else to build this. We're building it together...with you.

Let's go.

Tonight: Designing Oakland Tech Week 2026

Oakland Tech Week 2026

Last year, Oakland Tech Week activated the city with 7 days of programming, 40+ events, and 4,200+ participants across 30+ Oakland organizations. Tonight, we're gathering to celebrate the community leaders who made it happen—and to shape what's next.

Oakland Tech Week 2026 is planned for the first week of June. If you're joining us tonight, you'll hear testimonies from past hosts, then break into groups to dream big and build the plan together. You'll leave with new connections and a clear pathway to plug in.

We're close to capacity—if you haven't received your invite and want to attend, reach out directly.
